How to Teach Guitar
Do you play guitar? Do you like to help people? Do
you want to be
your own boss and control your own time? Well then, you can be a guitar
teacher! Click on the link above and you will set yourself on the path
to running your own guitar teaching business!
I started playing guitar 40 years ago. I was
doing OK , the usual path, trying to learn from friends, took a few
lessons, copping licks from records. Finding tab back then was like
finding gold. Then someone told me if I wanted to get better I should
teach guitar. It sounded like a good idea so I got my guitar and sat in
Central Park playing Niel Young and Beatles songs waiting for students
to stop by and sign up. After playing most of the summer, I got one! If
I would have had this book ( and the Internet ) back then I would have
been way ahead of the game!
For over 30 years I have started and stopped and
tried to get a guitar teaching business going but it just never seemed
to work out. Then, about 5 years ago or so, all the lessons I had
learned, from all the mistakes and blunders and mistarts, just came
together and I got my guitar teaching business going. Today, I am a
very successful independant guitar teacher making six figures! I decide
when I teach and where I teach. I set the methods and I pick my
students. I get to play guitar all day long and take a nap in the
middle of the day if I feel like it. I haven't had this much
continuous, consistent fun in my whole life! Every day I wake up, look
in the mirror and tell myself I am very lucky because I have the best
job in the world!
What could be better? I go to people's houses,
they are happy to see me, I help them do something they want to do and
they pay me!
