In May, 2005, I had the opportunity to record the Star Spangled Banner for a White Sox commercial. David at Two by Four was nice enough to ask me to help with the spot and it aired many times during the summer. The White Sox were also very nice to me and I didn't even have to tell them I remembered Al Lopez and Nellie Fox!

NationalAnthem Grinder Rule #18

Play Guitar Magazine is a great resource for beginners and intermediate beginners. It is a quarterly magazine that always has great tips and fun arrangements of serveral songs in TAB.

The Midnight Special is a radio show on 98.7 WFMT that plays a lot of folk and sometimes bluegrass music. They play other music and it's worth listening to it. The first time I ever heard Steve Goodman was on Midnight Special. It's been on air for 50 years and I've been listening to it for 35 years. They have a great New Year's Eve program.

Beginning Instruction Books

After completing this series, the sudent will have a solid foundation in the basics and and will have been exposed to several styles of music. I reccomend this series to young and adult.

This is the first book in the series without the CD, which isn't really needed for this level.	This is the second book in the series with the CD.

This is my favorite blues instruction book. It exposes you to several styles of traditional blues and it's a lot of fun to learn the songs.	This book is a good follow-up for the more advanced blues student.

This one is easy to use and in various colors.	This capo is more precise but harder to use.

I feel this is one of the best humidifiers for acoustic guitar. If used correctly, it will help protect you guitar in the dry winter months.
